Josie Alibrandi is struggling to find where she fits into the world that surrounds her. She doesn't like her family, or the pretentious snobs at her school. She is a wog and does not fit in. However, she has a plan. She will get the man of her dreams, leave her family and study law. Her plan is flawed though. As she continues through her life, certain events stop her from ascertaining her goal. Her father comes into her life and she realises she cannot have the man of her dreams afterall. As the movie progresses, Josie begins to get an understanding of who she is, where she is from, and how she fits into the complex world around her. A nice piece of Australiana that reflects the cultures which dwell in Australian society. If you like Australian films, you'll love Looking For Alibrandi. With new comer Pia Miranda along with Anthony LaPaglia and Greta Scacchi., this movie gives a very authentic feel.
